The luck factor of this game has recently disgusted me quite thoroughly. These thoughts of manifested at the conclusion of Regionals in Montreal. If you read my previous post, more than half the games I lost (if not all of them) were caused from my lack of luck. I think anyone can agree with this.
I enjoy playing Dino Rabits quite a bit. The deck is quite skill-based, despite what other may think, because you can still be victorious, regardless of opening Rabbit or not, if you effectively outplay your opponent. The deck does have quite the sack-factor though. First-turn Rabbit is one of the strongest openings in the current metagame. If you open Rabbit and many backrows, and/or Tour Guide, your chances of auto-winning have increased, but haven't necessarily reached 100% victory rate.
After the Regionals, I strongly considered quitting the game, because I was very unlucky all day long, and I don't want to be placed into this situation again. However, I decided to suck it up and continue playing card games, for now. There is a Regionals in Toronto coming up soon, and my goal is to top this one. Depending on what happens at this Regionals, it will determine whether I quit or not. I will be taking Dino Rabbits to Regionals, despite my horrible performance in Montreal, because I feel it is the best deck currently. I need to make my decklist stronger, though, and this is what I have to change.
+2 Forbidden Chalice
I was supposed to borrow 2 for the event, but that instance failed to occur. I lost my mirror match because he had a Forbidden Chalice at a critical moment, and if it wasn't for that, I probably would've won the match. The card is really good for dealing with Laggia, Dolkka, Tour Guide, Zenmaity, Inzektors... When I play at the next Regionals, 2 of them will be in my main deck somehow.
+1-3 Card Car "D"
Depending on how many I acquire before Regionals, I may want to include them in my deck. My opinion of this card, for this deck, is still unknown. Knowing my luck, I would have a tendancy to draw my normal dinosaurs first. I'm not huge on it for this deck, but only testing will reveal the truth.
+1-3 Night Beam
Another card from GAOV. If I get them I will probably run them. This card is retarded. For those who doesn't know what this card does: http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Night_Beam
+1-2 Dimensional Slice
Yet another new card. It's not a broken card, but I find it really amusing: http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Dimension_Slice
+1 Maestroke the Symphonic Djinn
This is the new Rank 4 monster that was released in the most recent starter deck. It's a little weak, but the card has some pretty nifty effects: http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Maestroke_the_Symphony_Djinn
I will do my best to incorporate these changes in the deck. Some of these cards may make the difference between topping in Toronto or not. Let the playtesting begin.
