It's a me, a Mario. I finally got around to going to a tournament, despite my busy school and work schedule. A bunch of card players decided to go to the shop, and a hold a tourament anyway, even though today is Friday. The tournament happened and it was pretty fun. I decided to play Dino Rabbit because I have the entire deck.
Round 1 vs Dimensional Eatos (2-0)
1 - First turn Rabbit into Laggia, with multiple backrow, was enough to seal this game for me. I made another Laggia a few turns later and he didn't have a response.
2 - This game did go back and forth a little. He topdecked an Eatos with no monsters in his graveyard half way through our game. I managed to summon a Utopia and ram it into Eatos. He then drew a Barbaros, but I drew Smashing Ground. I beat him down with Sabersaurus the remainder of the game.
Round 2 vs Infernities (2-0)
1 - He wasn't able to draw and dump enough monsters for him to explode. I had Laggia on the field for a few turns, but then I summoned Dolkka and that was it.
2 - He set 3 backrow and a monster. I played Heavy Storm and Rabbit; he scooped on his next turn.
Round 3 vs Inzektors (2-1)
I ended playing my Teammate, Raymond, and since next round was top 4, we were both guaranteed to top.
The whole match was pretty close. We went back and forth the entire match. I didn't get active Rabbits game 1 or 2. However, game 1 I still won because of Guaiba into Laggia. Game 2 was a little faster: no Rabbits and I got smashed by BLS. Game 3 I opened Rabbit, and kept being aggressive while he couldn't handle it.
Top 4 was myself, Raymond, Michael (Heroes) and a random Wind-Up player.
Round 4 vs Heroes (2-1)
1 - We both kept going back and forth this game. At the end I did have an active Laggia, but he played 2 Miracle Fusions...
2 - I summoned Rabbit and set 4 backrows. He couldn't fight past that.
3 - He summoned Neos Alius and set 2 traps. I played 2 MST from my hand, and then summoned Rabbit. He scooped shortly afterward.
Round 5 vs Inzektors
1 - I summoned a first turn Rabbit and set a few traps. I depleted his resources after a few turns and didn't seem to open that well.
2 - He wasn't able to pull any Inzektor comboes, and I had control of the game with Forbidden Lances and Fiendish Chains. I didn't draw Rabbit that game, but it didn't matter.
So I did go undefeated my first tournament in a while. Hopefully these Friday tournaments stay in place so I can actually compete in one tournament a week. Next week I may not be able to attend though... Anyway, Dino Rabbits is really good. Successfully summoning a Rabbit is just too good.
