Tournament Report and Deck Analysis for March 10,2012

Hey Michael here filling in for my unofficial trainer Mario to give you all a tournament report on my day at our local tournament.

Today we had a twelve person four round tournament with a top 4. I was running a Elemental HERO super poly build that has taken me to a top 4 finish at last weeks box tournament. I had borrowed 3 Maxx C and 2 Fiendish Chains from Mario and felt really strong going into today's tournament.

Round 1 Vs Dave Bush (Flamvell??) (2-0)
Game 1: He opens DD warrior lady and some back row. I summoned Stratos searched for Neos Alius setting a super poly and a solemn warning. He set another card and said go, I drew Mystical Space Typhoon on his set Solemn Warning and summoned Neos Alius to which he activated Bottomless which I chained Super Polymerization to fuse his DD Warrior Lady with my Neos Alius to make The Shining. The game ended shortly afterward.
Game 2: Don't remember much of this game only that he tried to attack with my mind controlled Blade Armor Ninja. I won with the Blade Armor Ninja and Absolute Zero.

Round 2 vs James O'Neill (Blackwing) (2-1)
Game 1: This was a quick game as he wasn't drawing monsters I won after a few turns.
Game 2: This was a back and forth game with us both dealing alot of damage before he finally got the upper hand after i couldn't draw into a Miracle Fusion.
Game 3: This was very much like the first game he couldn't draw into monsters while i had a steady stream of heroes to break through his traps a well timed Hero Blast on his Blizzard gave me the edge to win the game.

Round 3 Vs Austin (Lightsworn) (2-0)
Game 1: He made some weird plays using Lyla and Mage Power, after a Mystical Space Typhoon and a Blade Armor Ninja I was able to win.
Game 2: He made some moves to which i had counters for i won the game with a Absolute Zero and The Shining.

Round 4 Vs Rori (Wind-Up) (0-2)
Not alot to say about this one i opened bad and he looped me both games.

So the top four consisted of myself, Ryan Kane with Final Countdown, Rori with Wind-Up, and Nick Holland with Gladiator Beast. We all decided to play instead of going for the split.

Top 4 vs Nick (Gladiator Beast) (2-0)
Game 1: We traded attacks back and forth till I was able to secure the win with Blade Armor Ninja.
Game 2: He tried alot of Gyzarus plays which i had the answers for. Nova Master, Shining and the mvp of the day Blade Armor Ninja won me this game.

Top 2 Vs Rori (Wind-Up) (2-0)
This was the complete opposite of our earlier game as he couldn't get the hand loop off and i overwhelmed him with my Elemental Heroes and well timed Super Polymerization's.

So I took first place and 30 dollars in store credit with my favorite deck. When the dark Elemental HERO fusion is released in the summer i feel that this deck will balance the meta very nicely as being able to Super Polymerization every deck in the format will really add to the counter plays that your traps and hand traps would normally have to deal with.
