Today I am very sick, and I have nothing better to do then to write this post this morning. Anyway, if you read my tournament report from this weekend you will know I won with Chaos Agents. As I stated, I only played Agents to beat the other regular Agent players... and it was fun. In this post I will explain 2 of my unique side deck choices that haven't seen much play in Agents.
My first choice was Banisher of the Radiance. I was very pleased with this card's performance. I sided in 3 against all the Agent players, and I would side out my 2 Herald of Orange Light and 1 Honest because with Banisher on the field they are useless. On a side note, nobody probably thought that I sided out Honest. It's one of those cards that the opponent should fear somewhat, like Torrential or Dark Hole. Therefore siding it out didn't hinder me; I still won after all. Anyway, Banisher makes other popular cards useless: Maxx "C" and Veiler. Summoning Banisher turn 1 and keeping it alive secures a turn 2 Venus play from the likes of Veiler or Maxx "C" is pretty awesome. Additionally, it screws over most decks in the meta currently, similar with Thunder King. The opponent usually has to deal with the Banisher before doing anything significant. Opening with both Banisher and Thunder King in the opening hand with some sort of defensive card is excellent. Here is the final thing about Banisher, specifically in Agents: Since they are fairies they can be used to assist with Kristya's special summon or Hyperion's destruction effect. I can't emphasize how pleased I was with my Banishers.
My other unusual side deck choice was a playset of Dark Bribe. My reasoning behind my choice is this: Agents are a very 1-dimensional deck, and playing them so many times I have come to realize that one perfectly executed spell or trap to disrupt their strategy often wins the game. Dark Bribe has the potential to negate that one spell or trap that might screw me over. In absolute honesty, I won every game I played on the weekend if I drew Dark Bribe. I was impressed with Dark Bribes this weekend.
To all those Agent players out there, consider using Banisher and Dark Bribe. I don't believe you will be displeased.
