Analysis of YCS Atlanta

YCS Atlanta has just concluded and the winning deck was T.G. Stun. Honestly, I am quite pleased with this result, since I decided 4 days ago that I want to play this deck at regionals next week. The deck seems to be a really great pick to counter the current meta. However, the choices in his deck intrigue me. After reading the feature matches, it's apparent the winner played multiple cards that I didn't play. I do want to see the actual decklist of the winner.

Anyway, these were the decks that made the Top 32:

15 Dino Rabbit
9 Wind-Ups
2 T.G. Stun
2 Inzektor
1 Chaos Agents
1 Dark World
1 Evolsaurs
1 Empty Jar

Dino Rabbit swarmed the Top 32. This is unsurprising though, because Rabbit and Tour Guide are capable of amazing things. Laggia, Dollka, Leviair and Zenmaines are examples of these amazing things.

Wind-Ups followed with 9 showings in Top 32. This is also very unsurprising because Wind-Ups are capable of depleting the majority of your opponents hand, if Veiler and Maxx "C" don't interfere, first turn. Very little can emerge from the dominating combo.

What is really surprising is that Inzektors only took up 2 spots in the Top 32, and failed to break Top 16. Dino Rabbit does have a good match-up against this deck, and Wind-Ups can cripple the deck with its devastating first turn combo. Maybe it was just bad luck, because this deck shouldn't have done that bad.

Agents are still a solid deck obviously, and Dark World clearly got a little better with new cards from Order of Chaos. Empty Jar probably took advantage of One Day of Peace. Evolsaurs is just a little random, and I'm not sure what to think.

So this was the last YCS of the format. There are still a few more regionals left, and the results of this YCS will definitely have some impact over what happens the next 10 days.
