So today I decided to play Gallis Machines. Basically, the only spells I ran were heavy storm, dark hole, overload fusion and limiter removal. The strategy is this: Get as many machines in the grave as possible (obviously including cyber dragons) to make a powerful fusion with overload fusion. Limiter just wins games on its own of course. I thought the deck was really cool. Anyway, on to the report:
Round 1 vs Psychics (1-2)
1 - I didn't draw any low level monster I could normal summon or set the entire time so I lost.
2 - I made some plays, and eventually broke him down with BLS, and a couple other big monsters.
3 - He had a Psychokinesis for every big monster I summoned, and I eventually ran out of monsters to summon.
Round 2 vs Fabled (2-0)
1 - He started exploding but I had Maxx "c" to draw many cards. He planned on looping me with brionac and two cerburrels. I eventually drew my Veilers 20 cards later and stopped the Brionac. When he couldn't explode anymore and realized he couldn't kill me that turn, he scooped.
2 - I had Maxx "C" again to draw many cards. I also disrupted some of his graveyard summons with D.D. Crow and Ally of Justice Cycle Reader. He scooped.
Round 3 vs T.G. Agents (2-1)
1 - I defeated him with standard Gallis plays, and I had the Veiler to stop the one Trishula he summoned.
2 - I held in for a while with a Zenmaines. Eventually, he summoned Kyperion and Kristya and broke through Zenmaines. I didn't have my Dark Hole so I lost.
3 - He didn't drop any boss monsters that game, and I had the Crows, Cycle Readers and Veilers to stop him from doing anything threatening. Eventually, I summoned a Cyber-End Dragon, and started to pierce through his Gachi. I won in a few turns because he couldn't deal with it.
I managed to scrape top 4, regardless of my first round defeat. The other players who advanced were the Fable player, a Six Samurai player and a Tour Guide Agent player.
Round 4 vs Tour Guide Agents (2-0)
1 - I beat him turn 2 with 2 Machine Fortress, one Gearframe, and Limiter Removal.
2 - This game was pretty similar to game 3 of the previous match. Instead of beating him with piercing damaged, I burned him to death with Decisive Armor.
Round 5 vs Fabled (2-0)
1 - He exploded and I drew many cards with Maxx "C". He would've beaten me if I didn't drop a very huge Tragoedia.
2 - I didn't have Maxx "C" this time. He exploded but couldn't finish me off. I recovered by making a Scrap Dragon and started to destroy his field slowly. Luckily, I had multiple Veilers top stop his multiple Adreus, Keeper of Armageddon, from killing Scrap Dragon.
Anyway, I came first. Playing this deck was really fun, but I realized a few things. Firstly, this deck has a bad match-up against any deck that can easily summon Kristya. Finally, this deck is a lot like Lightsworn. However, the deck requires more skill, and is just better overall in my opinion.
